Heather Harrington's life in dance reads like a map of American modern dance's most storied institutions. She performed with the Martha Graham Ensemble, the Doris Humphrey Repertory Company, the Pearl Lang Dance Theater, and the Bella Lewitzky Dance Company — four pillars of the modern dance tradition that helped shape everything that came after. Her choreography has been recognized with grants from the New York State Council on the Arts, the Harkness Space Grant from the 92nd Street Y, and other prestigious foundations, and has been presented on stages and in extraordinary spaces from Danspace Project to the Grounds for Sculpture to Federal Hall in Lower Manhattan. She brings that same fearless artistic vision into the classroom as an adjunct professor of Modern Dance at Kean University and Drew University.
Now she's bringing all of that to Friday mornings in Summit.
