Freespace Dance, a professional modern dance company based in Montclair, New Jersey is hosting their 20 th Anniversary Celebration at the Vanguard Theater Company in Montclair, NJ.
The Company has been a non profit organization since 2004 serving over 10,000 patrons, students and artists through their performances, workshops, residencies and touring.
This season, Artistic Director Donna Scro Samori will be premiering “We Are….” a new work that explores the different parts that we play in relationship to each other and the world we live in. In addition, the company will present a film montage showcasing 20 years of choreography.
Performing in the event are current company members: Kierstyn Edore, Emma Gentile, Juliet Goswell, Emily Ingersoll, Andrew Kruep, Victoria May, Miguel Miranda, Alfonse Napolitano, Jasiah Rodriguez and Melina Soriano
Performances are Friday March 29 and Saturday March 30 at 7:30PM. Tickets are $25.00 Standard for the performance and $50.00 for the performance and benefit reception on March 30.

Freespace Dance is renowned for creating emotionally driven work with a bold, athletic signature style. Artistic Director, Donna Scro Samori, is a former principal dancer with the Nikolais/Louis Dance Company and a founding member of Sean Curran Company. Her work has been applauded as having a humanistic quality that “goes straight to the heart.” Freespace Dance has performed nationally and internationally, and is at the forefront of modern dance education in New Jersey. Freespace Dance has received grants from The Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
The artistic voice of Freespace Dance is one of collaboration, believing in combining different art forms to create something unique and varied. Artistic Director Donna Scro Samori collaborates with composers, dancers, musicians, visual artists and designers. The vision is to open the doors to all artists to come and create, rediscovering dance with each collaboration.
