Join us for “An Extra Lucky Festival of Dance and Disability Advocacy”! With Dance Innovations Performance Foundation and ELM

Calling all fmilies and dancers with children and young adults with disabilities! You are invited you to an amazing event being held at Dance Innovations on Saturday March 2nd, 2024, “An Extra Lucky Festival of Dance and Disability Advocacy” 

The event will be  in collaboration with Extra Lucky Moms, a group that is centered around creating a forum, platform and support systems for parents of children and young adults with disabilities and special circumstances. Dance Innovations Performance Foundation is partnering with this group to provide dance classes and yoga classes for both the children, young adults, and parents! We will also be having special speakers, vendors, and some light refreshments. 

Envision Dance Exchange is proud to perform at this event. Envision Dance Exchange (an integrated creative movement company celebrating the alliance of all abilities dancers) was founded in 2014 by Artistic Director, Susan M Coutts.  Many of Dance Innovations advanced students come together with a child or young adult with disabilities twice a month to learn, embrace, and share the love of dance. In Susan’s words, EDE is a blessing for children with developmental disabilities, and to see their faces light up in joy simply warms the heart.

Additional groups involved include Team Impact- and organization that give children with disabilities the opportunity to join professional sports teams and be a part of their practices, games, events, etc. This wonderful group is centered around the ideas of empathy, camaraderie, resilience, and giving everyone a chance to be a champion.
