November 7th & 8th, Summit
November 7th, 7:30 PM
November 8th, 2:00 PM
Be among the first to see what's next in contemporary dance. Nimbus Dance, the nationally recognized company, brings an evening of bold, physical work to Summit, including Artistic Director Samuel Pott's Surface Tension, a 2014 work set to the music of Johannes Brahms and Franz Liszt that turns toward the ocean as both image and metaphor in a meditation on life, death, and what lies beneath the surface. The program also features Roseification, with music by Paquito D'Rivera and Valerie Coleman, and an exclusive preview of a new work by Princess Grace Award-winning choreographer Omar Román de Jesús, ahead of its world premiere on November 13. Students from the School of Nimbus Dance round out the evening in excerpts from Don Quixote, staged by School Co-Director Sarah Lane, a showcase of the talent growing right here in the Summit community.
