Organization Overview
The Princeton Ballet Society’s mission is to nurture a lifelong love of dance and lift the collective spirit through excellent, relevant, and accessible artistic and educational programs, with a focus on classical ballet. This mission is fulfilled through three distinct but unified parts of the organization: American Repertory Ballet (ARB), the preeminent ballet company in NJ; Princeton Ballet School (PBS), one of the largest non-profit dance schools in the nation; and ARB’s Access & Enrichment initiatives, programs designed to enrich students and the local community to the art form of dance, as active participants and informed observers, and to develop life-long dance enthusiasts.
Position Overview
The role of the Marketing Intern is to assist and support the American Repertory Ballet (ARB) and Princeton Ballet School (PBS) Marketing Team, with primary focus on PBS social media content capture and creation. The Marketing Intern works primarily at PBS’s Princeton Studio with additional remote work and at PBS’s New Brunswick Studio. They report directly to the Director of Marketing and Marketing Manager. Responsibilities include:
- Capture and create social media posts (videos, images, captions) across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
- Assist in planning, implementing, and managing social media campaigns to achieve specific goals.
- Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages, and foster engagement with the audience.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of social media efforts and identify areas for improvement.
- Stay updated on the latest social media trends and best practices to inform content strategy.
- Work with the marketing team to ensure brand consistency and contribute to overall marketing strategies.
- Assist with general Marketing duties and contribute to the smooth functioning of the Marketing Team such as event listings, data entry, and other duties as assigned.
Skills and qualifications
- Currently pursuing (or a recent graduate with) a degree in the field of Marketing, Communications, Arts non-profit or other relevant program
- Detailed knowledge of social media platforms and content creation, with primary focus on video capture and editing.
- Ability to create visually appealing content.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to track and analyze social media performance and identify trends.
- Knowledge of how social media marketing aligns with broader business goals.
- Highly organized to manage social media calendars, schedule posts, and track performance.
- Strong ethics in teamwork and collaboration to work effectively with other members of the Marketing Team.
- Knowledge and appreciation of dance is preferred, but not required.
Compensation
$500 Stipend, plus complimentary tickets to American Repertory Ballet’s 2025-2026 Season, and free Open Enrollment classes at Princeton Ballet School.
