After 25 years of upholding Martha Hill's promise to honor and celebrate dance performance & dance education, the Martha Hill Dance Fund aims to continue that work via our new initiative, the MESH Fellowship - a mentorship program for emerging dancers and choreographers.
MISSION OF THE MESH FELLOWSHIP: To nurture and assist the transition of recent bachelor’s degree graduates into the professional dance world, through enhancing and expanding on their prior education. Mentees will be supported in identifying a goal, working towards that goal, and reflecting on progress and achievement.
In its pilot year, the Martha Hill Dance Fund will choose two awardees: Emerging Choreographer and Emerging Dancer.
THE MESH FELLOWSHIP WILL PROVIDE:
Emerging Choreographer Award
- $3,000 cash award
- Mentorship by a choreographic mentor
- $1,000 towards Studio Rentals and/or Space Grant
- An in-studio showcase opportunity at the end of the fellowship
Emerging Dancer Award
- $3,000 cash award
- Mentorship by a dance mentor
- $1,000 towards pre-paid Class Card
