Title: Modern/Contemporary Dance Teaching Artist

Teen Arts New Jersey seeks a professional teaching artist in Middlesex County to conduct a Modern/Contemporary dance class for gifted and talented middle and high school students. Arts High is a co-curricular college level, audition-based program serving the most talented artistic students in Middlesex and Monmouth Counties. Middlesex County Arts High classes are held at Middlesex College in Edison, NJ. Candidate should be available the first weekend in December 2026 for student auditions (December 6th, time TBD). Classes will run in twelve or fourteen week increments. Class times are 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in Middlesex County. More detailed information can be shared during the interview process.
Responsibilities for all Instructors:
- Prepare lessons for your classes.
- Guide students and help promote the best quality dance experience possible in an upbeat, positive, and inclusive environment.
- Communicate regularly with Middlesex County Arts High administration about students, updates, and any other matters of interest.
Qualifications:
- MFA in Dance (if teaching at the high school level)
- BFA in Dance
- Experience teaching students aged 11-18 in Modern/Contemporary Dance
Pay: From $50.00 per hour
Dates:
- December 6th, 2026 for Arts High auditions
- Program Days/Times: Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM
- HS Program: Tuesdays - January 26th, 2027 - May 11th, 2027 (Spring Break: March 23rd & March 30th)
- MS Program: Wednesdays - February 3rd, 2027 - May 5th, 2027 (Spring Break: March 24th & March 31st)
